La Saison du diable
En 1979, aux Philippines, la dictature militaire instaurée par le président Ferdinand Marcos atteint son paroxysme et quelque villageois tentent de résister. En réaction, un dirigeant commandite des meurtres au hasard dans les campagnes. Un trafic de drogue est inventé pour justifier cette violence. Au village, un enfant joue entre les arbres, s'assoit à côté d’une sorcière, puis d’un fantôme au nez difforme. Hugo Haniway, un poète philippin, organise des critiques virulentes à l’égard du système de Marcos, depuis la capitale. Il revient au village pour retrouver sa femme et apprend rapidement son assassinat en visitant le dispensaire dévasté qu’elle dirigeait...
